  7. Before you link your ACT! for Windows CE and desktop databases, you should do the following:
  8. <ul>
  9. <li>Make sure that the <a href="actsdate.htp">dates and times on your HPC and your desktop computer are the same</a>.
  10. <li>Compress and reindex the database on your desktop computer before linking. For information on compressing and reindexing your desktop database, see the <b>ACT! 3.0 User's Guide</b>.
  11. <li>If you have a large contact database, you can save space on your HPC by performing a lookup of the desktop ACT! contacts you want to send to your HPC database.
  12. <li>Make sure that HPC Explorer is installed on your desktop. See your Microsoft Windows CE documentation.
  13. <li>Connect the two machines using the connection cable that came with your HPC. See your Microsoft Windows CE documentation.
